Arnold Havelock Reynolds
Reynolds, Arnold Havelock, 79, of Antigonish passed away
suddenly on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at home.
Born in Queensport, he was a son of the late Czerney and Mary
Ellen
(Munroe) Reynolds.
Arnold was
employed in Halifax with the Department of Transportation and moved to
Antigonish in the mid-sixties to take over as supervisor of the
mechanical branch there, retiring after 38 years of service. He was
highly respected by his peers, well known as a man of integrity,
honesty, and respectfulness. He will be remembered by family and
friends for his guitar-playing, strong sense of humour, and his witty
turn-of-phrase.
He is survived by his wife of
47 years, Nancy (nee Haynes); step-son Wayne (Linda) Joyce, Shad Bay;
sister Eileen Hodgson, Dartmouth; brothers Freeman (Chris),
Saskatchewan, Garfield (Mary), USA; and aunts Edie Payzant and Cora
Munroe, USA.
Predeceased by sisters Carole
MacMaster, Frances Thibault; brothers Leeland and Garnet; and niece
Dr. Gisele Thibault
A memorial service for
Arnold will be held Wednesday in the C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135
College Street, Antigonish, at 11:00am, with Reverend Rebecca Sample
presiding. Burial of cremated remains in Queensport at a
later date.
