Bonvie, Veronica Mabel, 90, R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish, formerly of East Tracadie, Antigonish Co. passed away on January 12, 2012 at the nursing home.
Born in East Tracadie, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Ella (Pettipas) Bonvie.
Veronica worked as a housekeeper in Toronto and later in Quincy, Mass. She retired in 2005 to her family home in East Tracadie. She enjoyed spending time with a good book and a box of chocolates. While she lived and worked in the U.S., Veronica looked forward to her annual August visits with family in East Tracadie. She will be remembered for her generosity as well as her loving and caring personality.
She is survived by sisters, Ethel Landry and Roberta Delorey both of Tracadie; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Bonvie, Riverton, Pictou Co. and Rae Bonvie, Garden Grove, California; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers: Alphonsus, Bernard and Jerry; sisters: Matilda Mattie, Rita Mattie, Isabel Boucher and Kay Chick.
Visitation 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Friday in St. Peter's Place, Tracadie. Funeral Mass will be held in St. Peter's Church, Tracadie on Saturday at 10:30 am with Reverend John Barry preisding. Burial in the parish cemetery.
