Mary Katherine "Kaye" MacLean
1920-2012
MACLEAN (Kennedy), Mary Katherine "Kaye"
– 91, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family passed
away peacefully on July 3, 2012, in St. Martha’s
Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in Black Avon, she was the daughter of the late Dan and
Marybelle (MacDonald) Kennedy.
Kaye was an avid crib player and reader. Her quick wit,
homemade rolls, and knitted slippers, not to mention her strong
faith and spirituality will not be forgotten. She was
a member of St. Joseph’s CWL
Kaye is survived by her loving sons; Donnie (Betty), Hughie, John,
all of Ohio; A.J. (Cathy), Eastern Passage, Jimmy (Gloria),
Calgary, Joey (Sarah), Stellarton, Graham (Elizabeth), Antigonish;
daughters, Bernadette (Phillip) MacEachern, Karen (Bernie) Banks,
Mari (Maurice) Doiron, all of Ohio, Darlene, Halifax; sister;
Annabelle "Bebe" (Robert) Smith, Brierly Brook;
brother; Sam (Agnes) Bayfield; 20 grandchildren and 25 great
grandchildren.
Besides
her parents, Kaye was predeceased by her loving husband, Alex
MacLean; son, Alexander; sisters Annabelle, Florence; brothers;
Angus L., John Dan, Joe,
Francis.
Visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9
p.m. at C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street,
Antigonish. Funeral Mass will be held in St.
Joseph’s Church, St. Joseph, on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.,
Reverend Danny MacLennan and Reverend Alphonsus Iwuji Ikechukwu
presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery.
