Anne Marie Michelle Wheeler

 

Wheeler, Anne Marie Michelle, 66, of Antigonish passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, on July 2, 2012 at St. Martha's Regional Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

Born in Antigonish, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Stella (Delorey) Banks.

She lived in Annapolis Valley for many years where she worked with her husband at the Graves Factory in Berwick. She also lived in Cape Sable Island where she delivered the Chronicle Herald for seven years and would often reminisce about her customers and the beauty of the area. She was an avid outdoors person who loved to garden, fish and go hunting in the fall with her brothers Anthony and Andre in Alberta. She was a Jehovah's Witness  for 37 years. Anne Marie was a loving wife and mother and a good friend to many. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving daughter, MaryAnne (Ken) Stott, Antigonish; devoted niece, Shelley Banks; brothers: Fred (Betty) Banks, Alberta; Bernard (Karen) Banks, Antigonish; Gerard (Tammy) Banks, Alberta; Andre (Marcell) Banks, Margaretsville; Anthony (Karen) Banks, Alberta; sisters: Mary Mahoney, Antigonish; Rita Houghton, Truro; close cousins: Donna Dakin, Pauline Gammon and Monica Hull and many other nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Leslie Wheeler on March 13, 2012; brothers Leo and Peter and infant brother, Joseph.

The family would like to thank Dr. Cudmore, her Oncologist, Dr. McCormick and the nursing staff on the Oncology, PCU and GERU units at St. Martha's as well as Dr. Maureen Allen and Francis Chisholm, RN in the Palliative Care unit.

Funeral service will be held in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses  in Antigonish on July 14th at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Resource Room of St. Martha's Hospital. Online condolences: ww.clcurry.com.
