Jerome Patrick MacPherson

MacPherson, Jerome Patrick, 66 of North Grant, Antigonish Co. passed away on July 19, 2012 at home.

Born in Guysborough he was a son of Annie (Armsworthy) MacPherson and the late James MacPherson.

Jerome was a dairy farmer most of his working life. He was a member of St. Ninian's Knights of Columbus, and a former member of St. Ninian's Parish Council. He also served for twelve years on the Board of Directors of Antigonish Farm and Garden Co-op. He was honored to be selected as a Eucharistic Minister for Pope John Paul's visit to Halifax in 1984. Jerome was an avid hunter and sports fisherman. He also loved to garden.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, the former Linda Allen; his children Sherry (Tony) MacInnis, Rose Valley, PEI; Jerry (Kathleen), Tantallon; Cathy (Eric Anderson) MacPherson, North Grant; Jamie (Lesley), Smithers, B.C.; affectionately known as J.P. to his grandchildren: Courtney, Cody, Daniel, Jordan, Leland, and Owen; brother Donnie (Joan), North Grant; sister Patsy (Hugh) MacEachern, North Grant.

Visitation will be from 7 - 9pm Sunday and 2 - 4 pm and 7 – 9pm Monday in C.L.Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00am in St. Ninian's Cathedral with Reverend Bill Crispo presiding. Burial in the Parish cemetery.
