George Angus Cameron
1949-2012
Cameron, George Angus, 62, of Pomquet, Antigonish County, died on July 21, 2012, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Born in Lochaber, he was a son of Christine (née Barter) Pike (John) and the late Angus Cameron.
George always found the time to help anybody, be it family, friend, or stranger. "Beaver" worked at Martin Marietta for 14 years. He was known around the county for tourin' in his truck, his quick wit, and his colourful language. He loved fishing, family, card plays with his "girlfriends", and a good cup of tea. But what mattered most to George was his wife of 37 years.
Besides his mother, George is survived by his wife, Agnes (MacNeil), children, Charlene, Calgary, George D. "Geordie", Pomquet, Gina (Garfield) Delorey, Pomquet, and Kurt Benoit, Glenair Estates, Lower South River; grandchildren, Alanna, Lilly, and Avery, whom he adored; siblings, Marjorie Ribera (Lilo), London, ON, Walter (Judy), Pearl Brook, Ethel (Cedric) MacEachern, Monastery, Stanley "Fid" (Michele MacEachern), Lochaber, Dianne (Johnny), Glen Road, Darryl (Charlene), Country Harbour, Ginny, Antigonish, Glenn, Glen Road, and Rob (Wanda), Glen Road.
Visitation will be in the C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish, on Monday from 7 to 9pm and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Funeral service will be held Wednesday in Lochaber United Church at 2:00pm, Reverend Meredith Marple presiding with Reverend P.J. Baccardax assisting. Cremation to follow.
