Answers to the most asked questions
about funerals, plus a few bits of information important to know.
What
services does the funeral home provide to it's families?
One of the primary goals of our firm
is to offer compassionate, kind, and knowledgeable professionals. The
average funeral entails 102 hours of labor and service including:
removal of remains, scientific preparation of the remains, hairdressing,
securing vital statistics, obtaining provincial documents, writing
obituaries, staffing for visitation times, and staff coordination of the
funeral ceremony. Our staff also coordinates all of your wishes with
clergy and cemetery, assists you with Canada Pension Benefits and Veteran
Benefits, and any other paperwork at your request. Our staff is
available on-call on a 24 hour basis.
Our tastefully decorated funeral
facility is available for visitations and funeral services and includes
chapel, visitation rooms, air conditioning, ample parking, and public address systems. Our motor equipment includes
service vehicle for hospital removals, Funeral Coach, Clergy, Family and
pallbearers cars for funeral processions.
Are there
different types of services?
Yes. We want the funeral of your loved one
to reflect that loved ones' life as well as your wishes. Whether the
disposition be a cemetery interment or cremation, the
process at the funeral can be the same. You may wish to receive
friends, for in sharing this time with others you will find it a comfort that so many people care.
Visitation can be held at the funeral home, in your church facility or even
in your
home. The
funeral service can be in the church or the funeral home. Our staff will
coordinate services with your choice of clergy or ceremonial leaders and
assist you in arranging music and readings as well as arrange for
final disposition.
What
funeral merchandise is offered?
Our funeral home displays an array
of funeral merchandise; available to you with regards to arranging the
funeral. We offer caskets; both protective and non-protective,
rental caskets and cremations oriented caskets. Also available is a
full range of special need caskets offering oversize or infant size
options, as well as steel vaults. A variety of Cremation urns are
available.
What
pre-need options are available?
For
many reasons, families are interested in talking about funeral
arrangements and providing the funding in advance. Our firm can
discuss a number of pre-finance options with you; they may include Bank Trust plans
that may be fully funded or paid in installments. We can also make you
aware of a variety of insurance options available to the consumer.
Should I
consider pre-paying funeral expenses?
Quite possibly. Though every
situation is unique, many folks have the desire to set funds aside for the
eventual time of need. Pre-funding places today's cost of a funeral
in a unique investment that assures that this fund will grow at a pace to
offset inflation. Every pre-need product our firm offers is
transferable, just in case you move.
Does your
firm provide cremation services?
Yes. We make people aware that cremation is a
series of options. Some wish to have a traditional funeral with
visitation and church or chapel service followed by cremation instead of
ground burial. Other families request cremation followed by a
visitation with, or without, the urn present, followed by a memorial
service in the facility of their choice. Others prefer cremation
with only a memorial service. In all cases, personal wishes are
considered by our staff.
What
should I do when a death occurs out of province?
With family units spread over larger
areas, death sometimes occurs away from home. This is one of the
reasons our firm has affiliations with other funeral directors across the
country and throughout USA and Europe. When a death of a loved one
occurs out of province call us FIRST. Our telephone number for your
convenience is 1-902-863-2984.
What
payment terms are offered at the C.L. Curry Funeral Home?
Every effort will be made to
accommodate you with a method of payment based on individual needs.
Traditionally, we prefer Net 30 days, but we are indeed mindful that
insurance claims and pension benefits may take longer. Our payment
options include: Cash or cheque Net 30 - 45 days. Assignment of
insurance proceeds, pre-need burial trust product. For extended
payment plans we would suggest you consult your financial institute.
