Hardy, John "Jack"
Newlands of Lochaber, Antigonish Co., passed away
peacefully on Saturday November 28, 2015 at St. Martha’s
Hospital in Antigonish, Nova Scotia at the age of 88.
Born September 21, 1927 in Bridgetown, Nova Scotia he was a
son of John Clyde and Rose Catherine (Forres) Hardy.
Jack was raised in Antigonish and enjoyed a career with the
Royal Canadian Air Force, stationed in a number of locations including
Greenwood, NS, Halifax, Toronto, Ottawa and Zweibrucken, Germany. He
and his wife Margo retired to their own slice of Nova Scotia heaven in
Lochaber and wintered in Florida for more than 30
years.
Loving husband of Marguerite (nee Noel) Hardy, loving father
of Daena Flynn, Douglas Hardy and Cathy (John) Fletcher. Much loved
grandfather of Jason, Stewart, Amanda, Alexander and Eric, and great
grandfather of Ashton, Bradey and Zachary.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be held at 2 PM
on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at the Lochaber Centre, in the Village of
Lochaber, 1585 Highway 7, RR# 5, Antigonish, Nova Scotia. A reception
for family, friends and neighbours will follow the
service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to
the St. Martha’s Regional Hospital Foundation, 25 Bay
Street, Antigonish, Nova Scotia, B2G 2G5. Arrangements are under the
