Shirley and her loving family would like you to know that her work is finished in our world. She received an offer she could not refuse, a place in heaven, and a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Loved ones surrounded Shirley when she left us on April 13 2016 at age 64 after a sudden illness at St Martha’s Regional Hospital. Shirley is survived by her daughter Amanda, New Glasgow; sons, Lawrence and Robert, Antigonish and three grandsons, Jordan, Nathan, and Dylan. She is also survived by her father Lawrence, Ohio, and brothers Francis (Trish) Oshawa, Larry (Darlene), Havre Boucher, Gary (Margie), Lower South River, Michael (Heather), Sydney N S. Sisters Hughena (Gunther), Toronto, Arlene (Jake Johnson), New Glasgow, Nancy, New Glasgow; Rita (Tony MacDonald ), Antigonish, Sheila (Vernon Best) Trafalgar. Shirley was predeceased by her mother Shirley (Dunbar), and by one sister Christine.

Visitation will be in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish on Saturday from 7 to 9 pm and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held in St. Joseph’s Church, St. Joseph’s on Monday, April 18th at 10:30 am with Father Alphosus presiding.
