Melanson, William Clement, 71,
of Pomquet, passed away suddenly at home in on May 11,
2016
Born in Antigonish, he was a son of the late Leo and
Josephine ( Doirion) Melanson.
Willie started work in the woods as a pulp cutter at the
young age of 18 and continued for 9 years. He then became employed at
Michelin Tires as an operator where he spent the next 28 years. Willie
was well known by others as having an outgoing personality which
created life-long friendships. He was never one to shy away from any
conversation. He was a huge fan of the "Great 8" and the
Washington Capitals. He was extremely proud of his three sons hockey
accomplishments. He shared his love of animals (especially dogs) with
his daughter.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Yvonne
(Doiron); daughter Dale, Pomquet; sons, Rob (Lynda), Michigan; Stan
(Melanie) Quebec, Dean (Renee), North Carolina; grandchildren,
Melanie, Braydan, Sydni, Skyler, Lauren, Donovan, Cody, Lou, Sienna,
and Jocelyn; sister, Rita (Jack) Melanson-Swan,
Halifax.
Besides his parents he is predeceased by his brother
Clarence.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 7-9pm and Sunday
from 2-4pm and 7-9pm in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College St.,
Antigonish. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 11:00am in Ste.
Croix Church, Pomquet, Reverend Andrew Boyd presiding.
