Carr, Marjorie Mae, 93, Linwood,
Antigonish Co.. It is with very heavy hearts that we
announce that Marjorie Mae Carr, age 93 of Linwood, Antigonish County,
passed away peacefully on May 25, 2016 with her loving family at her
side. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and
great great grandmother. She was the last surviving member of her
immediate family.
Born in Linwood, she was the daughter of the late John Joseph
and Evangeline (Levangie) Delorey.
Marjorie was a very hard worker both inside and outside the
home. She lost her dear husband Howard suddenly at age 49. She was
left with small children to provide for. She did an amazing job. She
was an outstanding mother and always put her children ahead of
everything else in life. She created a warm and loving environment for
her family. She was a woman of strong faith and always had a beautiful
smile on her face. She loved her children dearly and all her family
and friends. She was a wonderful knitter and always had warms socks
and mittens knitted for anyone in need. She enjoyed doing the Lexicon
every week, and was a very giving person. She had other sorrows in her
life including the lost of her dear son Bill in 2006 and her dear
daughter Dianne in 2011. Her faith kept her going when she lost her
children. She had an incredible memory.
She is survived by her dear sons: Curtis (Viola), Beaverbank;
Bernie(Bun) (Irene), Halifax; Jack (Dorecn) , Linwood; Lennie
(Giselle), Cape Jack; Daughter Debbie (Lloyd) DeCoste, Cape Jack;
son-in-law John Doiron, Pomquet; sister-in-law Theresa Delorey,
Linwood; and special nephew Ralph, Linwood-who was very good to Mom .
She had 15 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 5 great great
grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her
dear husband, Howard; son, Bill and daughter; Dianne, and son Seward
in infancy, brothers: Lawrence, Angus, Herbie, Willie, Johnny;
Sisters: Rita Carr, Hattie Mattie, Lena Mattie; Mary Cotie, Ella
Boudreau and Martha DeCoste.
Visitation will be held on
Friday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm in St. Peter's Place, Tracadie. Funeral
Mass will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am in St. Peter's Church
Tracadie, Reverend John Barry presiding.
In lieu of flowers,
memorial donations may be made to St. Peter's Parish Cemetery Fund.
