Klassen, William Charles, 86, of Bayfield, Antigonish County,
passed away on June 23, 2016, at home.
Born in Chauvin, AB, he was a son of the late William
& Agnes (Hamm) Klassen.
Bill worked for Northern Electric/NorTel for 39 years. He was
a lover of nature and appreciated all that he found. Known locally as
The Muffin Man, he was an excellent scratch cook, often using
ingredients he found in the woods. Approximately 25 years ago, Bill
and his wife Betty fell in love with Nova Scotia, and they renovated
and moved into the Old Bayfield Schoolhouse. The family geneologist
and historian, he will be sadly missed by all.
He is survived by his children, Karen, Antigonish County;
Kathy (Craig) Campbell, Chesterville, ON; William (Diana-Lynn Fox),
Ottawa; Krista (Jeff Rossiter), Merrickville, ON; Kama (Paul Yantha),
Kingston; beloved Opa of 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren;
brother of Gerry (Andree), Halifax.
Predeceased by his wife, Betty and brother, Hank
(Vina).
There will be no public service by request. A private family
ceremony will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a
