Huntley, Thomas Peter, 94, of Milford Haven Home for Special
Care, Guysborouh, and formerly of Big Marsh, Antigonish County, passed
away on June 24, 2016, at the home.
Born in Grosvenor, he was a son of the late Thomas and Ellen
(Talbot) Huntley.
Tom could always be found in his garden, the wood pile, or
chasing a deer under the hardwood stands that still tower over his
favourite hunting grounds. The many years of his life have seen him as
a woodsman, a farmer, a security officer for the RCMP during WWII,
and, until his retirement, a bridge crew painter for the Department of
Transportation.
He is survived by his sons, Daniel, Truro; and Archie
(Jodie), Big Marsh; five grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by his wife Mary (Gillis); son, Vincent; sisters,
Catherine Green and Mary; and brothers, Henry and John.
Visitation will be held Tuesday in C.L. Curry Funeral Home,
135 College Street, Antigonish, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Funeral Mass
will be held Wednesday at 11:00am in St. George’s Church,
Georgeville, with Reverend Evo DiPierro presiding. Burial to follow in
the parish cemetery.
In Memoriam, donations to Milford Haven Home for Special
Care.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Bell
and the staff of Milford Haven for the wonderful quality of care they
have graciously provided over the past seven years.
