Linklater, Adrianna Margaret "Rusty", 70, of Cape Jack, Antigonish County, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2016, at home following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born in a taxi on the way to Antigonish, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Adrian and Catherine Louise (MacDonald) Stewart.

Adrianna worked for 35 years as a CNA and CSR Tech at the Strait Richmond Hospital, and finished her career as a councillor attendant at the Detox Unit.  But it was her volunteer commitments that best defined her.  Rusty held several positions with the local CUPE union, including President, Vice President and Safety Officer.  She was a board member and short-term president of Leeside Transition House in Port Hawkesbury, initiated the Employee Assistance Program at Strait Richmond Hospital, and was the first president of the 50+ Senior's Club in Havre Boucher.  She upgraded her education by getting her GED, several NSGEU Leadership courses, the Christopher public speaking course and a Psychology course at St. Francis Xavier University.  Most recently, she also earned her yellow belt through the Havre Boucher Tae Kwon Do Club.

She is survived by her daughter Tammy (Darryl) Breen, Cape Jack, whom she lovingly raised on her own.  Adrianna's favourite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren, Brooke and Jake, who were her pride and joy.  She held a deep connection with her brothers and sister and their spouses, Sheldon (Basia), Ottawa; Arthur (Linda) Linwood; Johnny (late Diane), Hamilton; and Jimmy (Angie), Martin (Bev), and Angus (Andrea), all of Havre Boucher, and she felt greatly supported by them all.  She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her beloved sister, Emily.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 7 to 9pm and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in St. Paul's Centre, Havre Boucher.  Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at 11:00am in St. Paul's Church with Rev. Allan MacPhie presiding.  Burial in the parish cemetery.

In Memoriam, donations to the Antigonish Town & County Palliative Care Society or VON Antigonish appreciated.
