Martha Rebecca MacEachern, age 94
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our
mother at the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish, on July 20,
2016.
Born on March 14 ,1922 in Oyster Pond, Guysborough County,
she was a daughter of the late Charles Edward and Margaret Rebecca
(MacDonald) Bowman.
Martha worked for many years at St. Martha's Hospital and
made dear and lasting friendships.
Survived by sons John (Mary) Pitts and Everett (Patsy) Pitts,
Antigonish; Hugh John MacEachern, Afton ,daughters, Brenda (Andrew)
Tate, Dagger Woods; Marsha (Fred) Vandereep, Fort McMurray, AB;
daughter-in-law, Cathy, Monastery; sister, Viola (Renie) Grant,
Linacy; step-mother, Agnes Bowman, Merland; half-brothers, Charles,
Clyde, Kevin, David, Alvin, and Andrew Bowman; half-sisters, Audrey
and Gertrude; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; many
nieces and nephews
She was predeceased by husbands Everett Martin Pitts (1948)
Hugh John MacEachern (1999); son, Stephen (2009); brothers, Edward,
John, and Francis; and sister, Eileen.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Sunday,
July 24, from 1-4 at St. Peter's Place, Tracadie. There is
no funeral service at this time.
Family flowers only, please. In lieu of flowers, donations
may be made to R.K. Nursing Home Foundation or the charity of your
choice.
