Venedam, Margaret Clare, 57, of
Pomquet passed away on July 21, 2016, in St. Martha's Regional
Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in Antigonish, she was a daughter of the late Tom and
Mary (Ryan) Lukeman.
Margie always had a special place in her heart for children
and fostered children for a number of years. Margie loved to visit and
to receive visitors in her own home while enjoying a cup of coffee and
a good chat!
Margie is survived by her husband, Calvin; son, Jonathan
(Denise Rizzotti and her children, Charlotte and Ben), New Glasgow;
daughter, Suzie (Sylvain) Girard, St. Ours, QC; grandchildren, Yanika,
Zoélie, and Emma Dupuis; siblings,
Camilla (Jose) Torres, Oshawa; Patsy (late MacLean) Stewart, Lachine,
QC; Sharon (Fred) Beaton, Antigonish; Gerard (Mary), Antigonish; Paul
(Gail), Antigonish; Bernard (Bridget), Halifax; Kevin (Sharon),
Calgary; Michael (late Janice), Pleasant Valley; Mary (Ton van der
Valk) Lukeman, Halifax; Frank (Lynne), Antigonish, and Maureen
(Malcolm) Palamarek, Cochrane, AB.
Visitation will be held Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in
C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish.
Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at 11:00am in St. Ninian Cathedral,
Reverend Donald MacGillivray presiding. Burial in the parish
cemetery at a later date.
Family flowers only, please. In lieu of flowers,
donations to Cathy's Place or the Canadian Cancer Society is
appreciated.
Margie was a person of genuine kindness with thankfulness for
everyone in her life. She asked us to include a final message in her
obituary: "I want to say thank you so very much to my family and
friends for all that was done for me this past year. I truly
appreciate all the support that I received on my
journey".
