Benjamin Murray Cullen, 69, of Antigonish died
suddenly, but peacefully, at home on August 27, 2016.
Born in Truro, he was the son of the late Murray and Marg
(Baird) Cullen of Bible Hill.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Nancy (Blacklock); son
Rob and daughter in law Nita of Bridgewater; son Rick and daughter in
law Debbie of St. John's, NL; grandchildren Melissa, Megan and Jacob;
his pride and joy Sheltie, Sassy; brother Ed and sister in law Judy of
Truro; sister Lauralee and brother in law John Benson of Halifax;
sister Joanne; nieces and nephews Jaimie, Jeff and Janelle; and
several grandnieces and a grandnephew.
Ben worked with Grant Thornton, and its predecessor firms,
for over 43 years and volunteered his time with numerous sports
organizations in Antigonish and Digby (more recently with Sassy and
the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program). He loved to spend time
following his favourite sports teams and working in his workshop on
his 1976 MGB.
Visitation will be in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College
Street, Antigonish on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. In lieu of
flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
