Clifton, Margaret E., age 98, of the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, formerly of Beaver Meadow passed away on September 29, 2016 at the nursing home.

Born in New Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Elizabeth (Weston) Greene.

Margaret had many interests, including quilting, fishing, gardening, playing cards and solving the cryptoquote, but most of all she cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She and her late husband John enjoyed their travels across Canada and the United States.

She is survived by daughters: Peggy (David) Kennedy, Moncton; Patsy Bowen, Hopewell; son, Danny (Joanne) Clifton, Beaver Meadow; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sisters, Hazel Jones, Dartmouth and Elizabeth Taylor, Florida.

She was predeceased by her husband, John; brothers: Bert, Norman, John, Carl, Bob; infant grandson David and son-in-law, Jimmy Bowen.

Visitation will be in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held in St. James United Church on Sunday at 4:00 pm with Reverend Peter Smith presiding. Burial in Glen Bard Cemetery.
