Dianne Pelrine
March 20, 1945 to October 6,
2016
It is with great sadness we say goodbye to Dianne, loving
wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and
friend.
Born in Colchester County on March 20 1945, Dianne grew up in
Grovenor, Antigonish County. She grew up in a foster family and found
comfort and companionship in the many cats that lived with her at her
home. This left her with a lasting love of cats and all
animals.
Dianne married Leo Pelrine on 21st of July, 1962 and soon
started a family. One of Dianne's great joys was in the reunion with
her biological mother Melinda Woodard (Fitzgerald). She instantly
gained a dad, Mike Woodard, four sisters Arline,Wendy,Louise, and
Patty and a brother Mitchell.
Dianne's greatest joy was as a mother to Roddie, Clifford,
Mona, Brian, Linda, Leon and Jody. She was a big part of her
grandchildren's lives caring for Jessica and Dakota (Mona), Luka and
Saule (Jody) and made many trips to Ontario to visit grandchildren
Justin and Tyler (Roddie) and Koryssa (Leon). She will be dearly
missed by her little great grandson Cooper (Justin &
Carrie).
Dianne also enjoyed the many pets in her children and
grandchildren's lives referring to them affectionately as her furry
grandchildren.
She valued all the people in her life and took great interest
in family connections, births, anniversaries and significant family
events. All were noted or memorized and she was often called to assist
in filling in the gaps of family history. One of the many gifts she
gave her family is this history captured in the vast assortment of
pictures taken by Dianne.
Dianne was a people person, a smile quickly became a
conversation with acquaintances and strangers. She was even known to
spend over 30 minutes on the phone chatting with the caller of a wrong
number.
Dianne spent the last year and a half of her life living at
Greenwold Manor in Antigonish. She embraced her new life in town
developing new friendships and reuniting with old acquaintances. This
new life was cut short after being diagnosed with cancer. In spite of
the challenges that came with this diagnoses, Dianne kept
busy with life, always out with friends and family when she
could, until she lost her year long battle with
cancer.
Among her many friends she will be deeply miss by her dear
friend Doris Ehler .
Dianne is survived by her husband of 54 years Leo, sons
Roddie (Carolyn Krug); Clifford (Donna Gavin); Brian, and Leon(Sandy
Hardy) and daughter Mona.
She is predeceased by children Michael, Linda, and Jody, and
parents Melinda and Mike Woodard, and sisters Patty and
Arline.
Visitation for Dianne will take place Sunday October 9 at St
Peter's Place in Tracadie 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm, Funeral Mass will
take place 11 am Monday October 10, St Peters Church Tracadie,
internment immediately following.
Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers to
the IWK Foundation.

A limb has fallen from
the family tree
I keep hearing a voice
that says grieve not for me
Remember the best
times, laughter the song
The good life I lived
while I was strong
Continue my heritage, I
am counting on you
Keep smiling and surely
the sun will shine through
My mind is at ease, my
soul is at rest
Remembering all how I
truly was blessed
Continue traditions, no
matter how small
Go on with life don't
worry about falls
I miss you all dearly,
so keep up the chin
Until the day comes
we're together again
