Bernard, 69, of Afton, passed away peacefully on Oct.
8, 2016 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital,
Antigonish.
Born November 6, 1946 in
Antigonish, he was a son of the late Henry and Gertie (McKeough)
Bowie.
Mike was a member of the
International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 73 and had recently
received his 50 yr. pin. In his early years Mike enjoyed hunting and
fishing.
He is survived by his wife Elaine
(Delorey); daughter Michelle (Jeremy) Knight, Fall River; Paul
(Leann), Regina, Sask.; Kevin (Sandi), Afton; six grandchildren:
Heidi, Jacob, Gracie, Courtney, Dylan, and Devin; and most recently a
great granddaughter Olivia; siblings; Jim (Margie), Spryfield; Louise
Boyle, Afton; Elmer (Georgina), Merland.
Predeceased by sisters Shirley
Shortt and Jeannie Boyle; and brother Donnie; brothers-in-law Buddy
Boyle, Eugene Boyle, George Shortt, Thomas Delorey; sister-in-law
Valerie Bowie; nephews Jimmy Boyle and Mark Benoit.
Visitation will be held from 2-4pm
and 7-9pm on Wednesday in St. Peter’s Place Tracadie.
Funeral Mass will be held Thursday at 11:00am in St. Peter’s
Church Tracadie, with Reverend John Barry presiding. Burial in the
parish cemetery.
Memorial Donations may be made to
St. Peter’s Building Fund.
