Wallace, John Anthony, age 71 of Malignant Cove, Antigonish County passed away suddenly at home on November 12, 2016.

John Anthony, baby brother to Mary, Sally, and Geraldine "Gippy", arrived at the family home of John and Ruth Wallace, Malignant Cove during a thunderstorm on August 2, 1945. As sudden as a flash of lightning and as fast as a passing squall his varied life’s experience ended on November 12, 2016 a stone’s throw from the place of birth.

John Anthony enjoyed his life to the fullest, expressed on many an occasion with an offering of jokes from his archive. He faced his hurdles head on and was always ready to lend a helping hand where needed.

Schooled in the experience of hard work, he grew to be a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend, a consummate tease and tormentor. He loved his dog Cinder and had a certain passion for his vehicles and heavy machinery. John Anthony began his work life with Colin R. Construction, continuing on with R. Cameron. N.S. Dept. Of Highways, Brenco Construction and Alva Construction, as well as being An accomplished lobster fisherman. He really loved his times hunting, playing cards and the unexpected road trips with his buddies.

John Anthony will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 45 years, Patsy (Heffernan), sons: Tony and Jeffrey (Kelly); daughter Tanya (Doug) and his beloved grandchildren, Morgan (Tom), Sarah and Ryan. He is also survived by sisters: Mary (A.D.) MacLellan, Sally MacKay and Geraldine `Gippy`Heffernan; in laws: Kay (Silivo), Frank (Minnie), Marion (Joe), Bernie (Brenda), Elaine; special nephew, Mark Heffernan, and many other nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by father in law, John Dan Heffernan, mother in law, Margaret (Girlie) Heffernan; brothers in law: Johnny, Leo, Roddie, Donnie, Carmen and Cecil MacKay.

Cremation has taken place.  Visitation will be in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm pm. Funeral Mass will be held in St. Margaret of Scotland Church, Arisaig on Thursday at 11:00 am with Father Colin MacKinnon presiding. Burial at a later date.
