Kevin Wayne Hendsbee, 52 went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Wednesday, Dec. 21st. He was born in 1964 in Canso, NS. Son of Wayne and Marion Hendsbee. He is survived by his helpmeet of 30 years Dianne (Eary) Hendsbee, He leaves behind four children; Caleb (Halifax); Joshua (Greenwood, NS); Emily Joy (Antigonish); Andrew (Antigonish) and two grandsons: Lucas Lupton (Lloydminster, Sk.); Titus Hendsbee (Halifax). Sister, Sheila (Kevin) Scott, (Windsor Ont.); brother Lee (Annette) Hendsbee (Greer, South Carolina); pre-deceased by sister Charlene Hendsbee.

He is a graduate of Kingston Bible College, NS. He was ordained into the ministry in 1987. His ministry over the last 30 years included church planting and pastoring in many different ministries across the Maritimes and Ontario. He and Dianne began as missionaries/church planters in Triton, Newfoundland where they grew to love the people there as their own family. From there He helped to strengthen churches in St. John, NB; Charlottetown, PEI; and Halifax and area. A big move of faith was made to begin pastoring Goulais River Baptist Church in Northern Ontario. Several years were spent in southern Ontario helping out where he could in small, struggling churches. The Lord directed him back to the Annapolis Valley, really where he began, to pastor in Greenwood/Kingston. He was the current pastor of Antigonish Baptist Church for the past six years. He was an integral part of Grace Baptist Church, Sunnyville, NS in keeping its doors open and taught at the weekly Bible study. Not to mention all the other churches in the Maritimes that he has helped to encourage and strengthen. It was evident in his life that he truly had a ‘pastors heart’ and love for people. He will be remembered as a faithful pastor, loving husband and father and a trusted friend to many.

Visitation will be held at C.L. Curry Funeral Home, Dec. 26th, Monday 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral will be held Tuesday, Dec. 27th, 10am at Antigonish Baptist Church, 9 Martin street. The Rev. Warren Jones officiating. Internment at Bayview Cemetery, Half Island Cove with a light lunch provided at the Queensport Fire Hall.

In Memoriam, donations to the Hendsbee Family c/o C.L. Curry Funeral Home appreciated.
