Crawford, Robert Alan, 70, of Antigonish, passed away December 31, 2016, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital.

Born in Boston, Mass, he was a son of Anne (Dykens) and the late Francis Crawford.

The love Robert and his wife Joanne shared was evident to all. He was always very active and supportive in his children's sports and activities and was a father figure to so many more. An active member and proud Freemason, Robert was past District Deputy Grand Master for the Antigonish – Guysborough District and Past Master for Sunrise Lodge # 116 in Antigonish. Robert was a very kind loving and positive man who would always leave you with a smile. Regardless of the trials and challenges sent his way, he persevered without complaint.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife and sweet dream Joanne (van Thiel) whom he adored; children, Debbie (Tim) Copely, Boston; Terri Crawford, Calgary, Megan and Matthew both of Antigonish; grandchildren Jaqueline and Carissa Gonski, Boston, Mass.; Mikaela Chadwick, Calgary; Kyle Copely, Boston, Mass.; brother Ernest (Diane), Boston, Mass.; sister, Janice (Ed) Carroll, New Hampshire; sister-in-law Sophia, Texas.

Predeceased by brother, Frankie.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm in C.L. Curry Funeral Home 135 College St., Antigonish. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 11:00am in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, Reverend Donald MacGillivray presiding.
