Shanna Raylene Desmond,
age 31 of
Guysborough Road, Monastery went to sleep on January
3rd, 2017 at home.
Born in Scarborough, Ontario, she was the daughter of
Richard (Ricky) Borden and Thelma (Gero) Borden of
Monastery.
Shanna had attended Sir Robert L. Borden High School
in Scarborough and Guysborough Academy in Guysborough
County. She had recently taken a position at St.
Martha’s Regional Hospital in Antigonish as a Registered
Nurse following her graduation from the Nursing Program at St. Francis
Xavier University. She was also a graduate of Concepts
School of Cosmetology in Halifax.
Shanna loved to travel, dance and sing. She
was a completely loving, caring and honest person. She loved
to try different foods and experience different cultures.
Besides her parents, she is survived by her sister
Shonda Boparai (Borden), Regina, Saskatchewan, brother Sheldon Borden,
Halifax, Grandmother Emily Borden, Guysborough, nephews; Quentin
Borden, Dominic Boparai, nieces; Quianna Borden and Autumn
Boparai. Besides her immediate family Shanna will be greatly
missed by her many aunts, uncles and
cousins.
Deceased also are her daughter, Aaliyah; husband,
Lionel; maternal grandmother, Susan Lawrence and grandfathers: Jethro
Gero, Robert Williams and Norman Borden.
Visitation will be Monsignor Donnelly Hall, Tracadie
on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm from where funeral service will
be held on Thursday at 2:00 pm with Stephen Shepherd presiding. Burial
in Sunnyview Cemetery at a later. date. Memorial donations may be made
to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's
Wittnesses.
