It is with
great sadness that we announce the passing of Chisholm MacDonald of
Heatherton on Monday January 9, 2017 at St. Martha’s
Regional Hospital, with family at his side.
Born in 1930,
he was the youngest son of the late Alexander A and Jennie (Chisholm)
MacDonald. After attending school in Heatherton, Mabou and The Nova
Scotia Normal College in Truro, he graduated from St. F.X. University
in 1956. After teaching in Cape George, Fraser’s Grant, and
Tracadie, he joined the Canadian Press, where he was a journalist in
Montreal, Winnipeg, London Ontario and Toronto, where he raised his
family with his wife Libby until his retirement in 1992. In 1996 they
returned to his beloved Heatherton to be close to family. Chisholm had
a great love for history, politics, travelling and literature. His
knack for story-telling made for many entertaining evenings. Chisholm
had a very avid interest in genealogy, particularly in this family
lineage.

and Keegan Chisholm, Antigonish, sister Kaye Fraser, sisters-in-law,

(Joan) Chisholm, Heatherton and many nieces and
nephews.
