Bouchard, Raymond A, age 91, of
Antigonish, died peacefully at St. Martha's Regional Hospital on
January 16th, 2017, with family at his
side.
Born in Halifax, he was the son on the
late Raymond and Melinda (Dunbar) Bouchard. As a young man, he served
as a Private with the North Nova Scotia Highlander’s in
WWII. After returning home he spent his career with Roy Judge
Trucking, Atlantic Equipment as a sales manager, as well as being self
employed in the logging
industry.
Raymond met and married his wife
Phyllis McPhee and they spent their 55 married years in Halifax, Cape
Breton, and finally retiring in Giant’s Lake, Guysborough
Co. He took great pride in his garden, as well as a great love for
hunting and
fishing.
Raymond is survived by his son Richard,
granddaughters Caitlin, ON, and Danielle, Antigonish; brother Ronald
(Shirley) Bouchard, ON.; sisters, Shirley Watters, Antigonish and
Pauline (Bill) Malcolm, St. Andrew's, as well as sister-in-law June
Pope, Halifax and
many nieces and
nephews.
Predeceased by wife Phyllis,
daughter-in-law Mary Bouchard, sisters Margaret (Tom) Skerry, Audrey
(Blair) Currie, sister-in-law Gladys (Art) Melanson, brothers-in-law
Ken Watters, Earl McPhee, Sterling McPhee, and Wilfred
Pope.
Cremation has taken place. There was no visitation
as per Raymond’s request. Funeral
Mass will be held in St. Francis de Sales Church, Giant's Lake on
Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11:00 am with Reverend Gary MacPherson
presiding. Burial in the parish
cemetery.
