Feltmate, Mabel Elizabeth, 89, of the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish passed away on February 7, 2017^, in the nursing home.

Born in Eight Island Lake, she was a daughter of the late Elijah and Lottie Feltmate.

Mabel’s eyes would light up when there were kids in the room. She loved to knit and paint and adored her stuffed animals. She was also known for her nomadic ways.

She is survived by her children Marion (late Angus) MacNeil, Antigonish; Arthur (Margie) Turner, Antigonish; Marie Farrell, Antigonish; David Turner, Antigonish; Sheila (Malcolm) MacNeil, Oshawa, Ont.; Winnie (Freeman) Grant, Pictou; 17 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and many great great grandchildren as well.

She was predeceased by her husband Harry Feltmate; sisters, Sadie, Annie, and Tina; brothers, Bill, Eddie, and Walter.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 am until time of Funeral at 11:00am in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College St., Antigonish, Reverend Peter Smith presiding. Burial in Argyle Sunset Cemetery, Argyle, in the spring.
