Jenkins, Bernard Cecil, 84, of South Side Harbour, Antigonish County, passed away on March 17, 2017, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish.

Born in Boylston, he was a son of the late Clarence Bernard and Estella Mae (Myers) Jenkins.

"If a job is worth doing, it's worth doing well." Bernard  spent over three decades working at Churchill Falls and then with Blackwood Hodge at the mines in Labrador City.  Prior to that, he worked in the Maritimes with North-Eastern Terex.  Bernard's heart was never far from Guysborough, where he returned at every opportunity.   His loyalty to his family and friends will be remembered always.

He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Lorna (Yeaton); children, Jocelyn (Jim Hurd), Ottawa; Burton (Susan), South Side Harbour; and Deborah, South Side Harbour; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Garrett, and Gabrielle Jenkins and Gavin and Gillian Hurd; sisters, Dorothy (Willie) Goodman, Trenton, ON; and Eva, Halifax; and brother, Keith (Helen), Sydney.

Cremation has taken place.  Funeral Service will be held Monday in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish, at 10:30am, with Reverend Peter Smith presiding.

In Memoriam, donations to the St. Martha's Regional Hospital Foundation appreciated.
