Hallett, Ethel Irene, 101, of Antigonish and formerly of Stormont, Guysborough County, passed away at the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home on March 28, 2017.

Born on January 30, 1916, in Middle Country Harbour, she was the youngest daughter of the late Alexander Douglas and Margaret Ann (Dickie) McLaren and the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Ethel was a member of the Laurel Rebekah Lodge #101 of Goldboro.

She is survived by her daughters, Eleanor Hallett and Rita MacGillivray of Antigonish; grandson, Kenneth and his son Dominick of British Columbia; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Kenneth; son, Cyril "Bud"; son-in-law, Colin R. MacGillivray; and siblings, Helen Hodgson, Alexander "Sandy" Jr., Lorne, Mabel (Knott) Collins; Stanley, Sylvia Myers, Mary Webb, Edna Chipman, Charles, and Wilfred.

Cremation has taken place.  Visitation will be held Saturday in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish, after 1pm.  Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 2:00pm, Pastor John Luten presiding.  Private burial in Stormont Cemetery at a later date.
