It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of
William Roger MacLellan of Lower South River, Antigonish County, on
April 5, 2017, at the age of 50.
Born in
Antigonish, he was a son of the late Blanche "Betsy"
Elizabeth (MacLellan) and George Albert "Albie"
Borden.
Roger was a hard worker for many
places in Antigonsh, as well as an advocate for education for
African-Nova Scotian Youth. He was a self-employed small
business owner in Antigonish. Roger was a strong father
figure to many of his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his wife, Lorna (Paris), and son,
Deaunte, and his chosen children, Basil MacLellan, Jr., Sheena Roy,
and Allison Pelly. He is also survived by his brothers,
Junior and Basil, Antigonish; sisters, Elaine (Joe), Timberlea; Rita,
Greenwood; Rosie, Lincolnville; Laura (Nelson), Timberlea; Sheila
(Elton), Guysborough Intervale; Patsy (Dwayne), Lower Sackville;
Dorothy (Stephen), Dartmouth; many nieces and nephews and
great-nieces; aunt Elsie and special-aunt, Sheila Pelly.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by nephew,
Johnathan MacLellan, cousins, Billy and Veronica Pelly.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm
in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish.
Funeral will be Monday in Tracadie United Baptist Church, Rev.
Dr. Moses Adekola presiding. Burial in the church
cemetery at a later date.
