Gardiner, Mary, 98, of the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish, and formerly of Maryvale passed away on July 22, 2017 in the nursing home.

Born in Maryvale, she was a daughter of the late Ronald H. and Mary Ann (MacDougall) MacGillivray.

Mary had worked in the accounting department with Zellers.  In her retirement, she enjoyed helping others in her building with shopping, meals, and the like.  She was an excellent seamstress, and she made many of her own clothes.

She is survived by her sisters, Anne Crevier, Montreal, and Elizabeth Hammerslag, California; and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband, David; brothers, Hughie, Frank, Donnie, Vincent, Grant, Ronnie, and Colin; and sister, Catherine.

Cremation has taken place.  Funeral service will be held Thursday in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish, at 10:30am, Deacon Art Riley presiding.  Burial in St. Margaret of Scotland Cemetery, Arisaig, at a later date.
