Melanson, Gerald F., age 72 of Pomquet Point passed away suddenly in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish on March 9, 2019.

Born in Pomquet, he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Durant) Melanson.

Gerald was employed as a groundskeeper and truck driver at St. F.X. University all his working life. He enjoyed tending his chickens, cutting wood and deer hunting.  Gerald was always there to help relatives and friends with any projects, or whatever else people needed him for.

He will be forever missed by his many friends.

Gerald will be greatly missed by his wife, Diane (Levangie); son, Jerry (Lisa), Pomquet; daughter, Rachel (Stephen) White, South River; grandsons, Ryan and Declan; step grandsons, Robert and Riley Noble; brother, Wilfred, Tracadie; sisters: Mary Ann Melanson, Pomquet; Jean Grant, St. Francis Harbour and Barbara Coffin, Regina; sister-in law, Isabel Levangie, Antigonish.
