Farrell, Ella Theresa, 88, of St. Andrews and formerly of Erinville passed away on May 5, 2019, in the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish.

Born in Erinville, Guysborough County, she was a daughter of the late Michael Edward and Mary (Halloran) Sullivan.

Ella had a great wit, a strong faith, and she loved playing cards.  Ella lived all her life in Erinville until moving to SASHA in St. Andrews in 2008, where she made many wonderful friends. Her husband, John Arthur, passed away in 1964, and Ella admirably raised their four young children on her own. 

She is survived by children, Theresa (Allan) MacMullin, St. Joseph’s; Gerard (Anna), Blues Mills; Colleen (Bill) MacDonald, Ohio; Darlene (Mike) Wallace, Afton; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; special niece, Theresa Anne Sullivan; and many other nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her husband, John Arthur; sisters, Clara MacConnell and Annie Sullivan; brothers, James, Billy, and Michael Sullivan; and companion, Doug Farrell.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish.  Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 11:00am in St. Thomas Church, Salmon River Lake.  Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Guysborough Intervale.
