Robertson, Melanie Christina – South Side Harbour,
Antigonish County
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing
of Melanie Christina Robertson, 42, in St. Martha’s Regional
Hospital, Antigonish on May 12, 2019.
Born on August 8, 1976, Melanie was the adored chosen
daughter of Grace (John) Doyle and Stuart Robertson.
She was a 2016 Honours Graduate of the Culinary Arts Program
at NSCC Strait Campus and was employed with Sodexo Canada Ltd, St.
Francis Xavier University, for the last three years. Melanie
was well-respected and loved by her coworkers as well as
management. She was a valued member on the culinary team and
will be greatly missed. She was known for her sense of
humour, infectious laugh, and smile.
Melanie loved her three beautiful children, camping,
bonfires, fishing, animals, gardening, and of course Billy Joe, but
she hated June bugs.
Melanie will be sadly missed by her father, Stuart; her
mother and step-father, Grace and John Doyle; and also by the love of
her life, Billy Joe Tait, Bayfield; daughter, Madison; sons, Justin
and Nick; sisters, Melissa Robertson and Kristi Roy; brother, Trevor
Proctor; nephew, Ethan Robertson-Neaves; birth father, Jim Proctor,
several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Melanie was predeceased by her birth mother; Valerie Burbine
of River Hebert; her maternal grandparents, Chris and Doris Wheeler,
Corner Brook, Newfoundland and her paternal grandparents, Jim and
Sadie Robertson, North Grant.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 16 in C.L. Curry
Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish from 2-4 and
7-9pm. Funeral service will be held Friday, May 17,
at 10am at the funeral home. Interment to follow in St.
Ninian’s Cemetery. In Memoriam, donations
