MacDonald, Earle Scott, age 83, of Antigonish passed away on June 1, 2019, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.

Born in Goldenville, Guysborough County, he was a son of the late Wally and Alice (Mitchell) MacDonald.

Earle was a well-known dentist in Antigonish for more than two decades.  He was a reserved man who enjoyed salmon fishing on St. Mary’s River, and he was also gifted with great musical talents.  Though Earle lived with mental illness, his love for his family was strong.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sharron (Cruickshank); children, Daniel (Barb), Cole Harbour; Linda Hartery, Edmonton/Antigonish; Lisa MacNeil (Kelvin Fraser), Antigonish; and Betsy (Steve) Bridle, North Carolina; grandchildren, Jeremy and Chris MacDonald; Riley, Max, and Keigan Hartery; Emily (Derek), Courtney (Steve), and Anna (Mitch) MacNeil; Brittany, Tiffany, and Shawn Bridle; great-granddaughter, Addison Bridle; brothers, Grant, Enfield, and Ralph, Antigonish; and several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by a daughter in infancy, Emily Sharron; son, Tim; brother, Bill; and sisters, Helen, Betty, and Joan.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish.  Funeral service will be held Thursday in St. James United Church at 2:30pm, Reverend Peter Smith presiding.  Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Aspen.

Family flowers only, please.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Mental Health Association of Nova Scotia appreciated.
