Gould, Geraldine Marie, age 72, of Membertou and formerly of Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation, passed away on August 14, 2019, in Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Hello, young man or young lady!  Geraldine like to keep busy and enjoyed bingo, gambling, knitting, quilting, making wooden baskets and flowers, cooking, beading, and travelling with her husband and family.

She is survived by her children, Norman Prosper (Rachael), Ottawa; Daniel Prosper, Paqtnkek; Lillian Prosper; Membertou; Maury Prosper, Paqtnkek; Rita Prosper, Paqtnkek; and Patricia Prosper, Paqtnkek; grandchildren, Cecily Prosper, Rene Prosper, Lorraine Basque, Nyesha Sylliboy, Julius Esteban, and Promise Julian, all of Paqtnkek; and Nadine Prosper, Membertou; many great grandchildren; stepchildren, Martha Crossman, Lincoln Gould, and Theodore Gould, all of Membertou; siblings, Bessie Prosper, Rita Tontarelli, Fred Isadore, and Mary Jane McDonough; and godchildren, Christopher Pictou and Kale Gould.

Predeceased by her husband, Carl Gould; son, Roderick Prosper; parents, Frank Toney and Charlotte Stevens; foster parents, Noel and Kathryan Poulette; siblings, John Isadore, Mirium Taylor, and Louis Isadore; foster brother, William Poulette; and godchildren, Diane Morrison and Jimmy Armstrong.

Visitation will begin on Saturday after 4:00pm at the residence of John R. Prosper, 7926 Highway 4, Afton Station, Antigonish County.  Funeral Mass will be held Monday at 11:00am in Immaculate Conception Church, Heatherton, with Reverend Andrew Gillies presiding.  Burial in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Summerside Road.
