Chisholm, Mary Laura age 56, of Truro and formerly of Antigonish, passed away from a terminal illness that she faced with amazing strength, grace, and dignity on September 5, 2019. She was surrounded by a room full of love, music, flashlights, and a farewell toast at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre.

Mary was the daughter of Theresa (Pettipas) and the late Charles Myette of Tracadie. She is survived by her children Shannon (Matthew) Weckman, Emily Chisholm (Russell), Gregory Chisholm (Kendall), grandchildren Charleigh and Austin Weckman, as well as her siblings Cathy (Peter) Berkvens, Karen (Donnie) MacDonald, Steve (Cathy) Myette, Ron (Trish) Myette, David (Kara) Myette, Paul (Jennifer) Myette, Lynn (Brian) McGill, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who she greatly adored - and who truly loved her back. She is predeceased by grandparents on both sides of her family, as well as many aunts and uncles including her beloved Uncle Joe Myette.

Her proudest accomplishments were her children with whom she embraced every moment. She especially loved her role as Nana.

She had a vivacious personality and always made people laugh. Her greatest pleasure in life was to gather her family together and celebrate. She was a fabulous cook who loved to entertain. Her dry wit would leave you in stitches, even if she was just recounting simple everyday events. Just like her dad, she was a Montreal Canadiens fan - perhaps they will get them to the playoffs this year.

She had a special gift in her ability to connect with seniors. Throughout her career, countless families were touched by her kindness, compassion, and humour.

Mary will be greatly missed but now lives on in the cherished memories she created with family and friends so often surrounded by music, food and laughter.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Monday, September 9, 2019, from 2pm - 4pmand 7pm - 9pm in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish.  Funeral mass will take place in St. Peter’s Church,Tracadie,  on Tuesday at 11am with Father John Barry presiding. Mary will be buried in the parish cemetery alongside her dad. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CEHHC Foundation. Online condolences: www.clcurry.com.
