MacEachern, Hilda A., age 68, of Monastery, Antigonish County
passed away at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital on December
21, 2019 after a short but courageous battle with
cancer.
Born in Guysborough, she was the daughter of the late Roland
and Annie (Jones) Worth.
Hilda worked as a traffic controller for over twenty-five
years, retiring from Nova Construction in 2018. Her children and
grandchildren were a big part of her life. She loved life and had many
interests; dancing, pickling, making bread, and being in the outdoors
hunting and fishing.
She is survived by her children: Johnny (Joanne), Antigonish;
Roland, Lantz: Charlie (Allison), Mt. Uniacke; Annie (David),
Antigonish; Anthony (Natasha), Pinevale; Ernie (Joanna), Grand
Prairie; Louise (Cory), Monastery; her grandchildren whom she dearly
loved and many she cared for as her children; one great grandchild;
brothers: Bernie, Charlie, Jackie, Donald; sisters: Irene, Marie,
Isabel, Hazel, Rita, Patricia, Doreen.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter,
Yvonne and son Gordon; brothers Joe, Bill, Angus, Leo and
Leslie.
Visitation will be in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College
Street, Antigonish on Thursday from 7 to 9 pm and Friday from 2 to 4
and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am in
St. Thomas Church, Salmon River with Father Callistas presiding.
Burial in the parish cemetery. The family would like to thank all the
nurses in Palliative Care for the wonderful care to their mother and a
