Fougere, Joseph Ambrose Richard "Rick", age 63 of Havre Boucher passed away at St. Martha's Regional Hospital on December 30, 2019.

Born in Antigonish, he was a son of the late Ambrose and Peggy (MacDonald) Fougere.

Rick was a loving and thoughtful man who always put his family and friends before himself.  He was a caring husband, a proud father and a devoted papa.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing cards, listening to music and hanging out with the family dog, Mischa. He was an avid sports fan. He coached ball for many years, played softball, hockey, and golf, and loved watching sports on TV, especially cheering on his Habs.

Rick was postmaster in Havre Boucher for over 30 years where he enjoyed both helping and chatting with his customers.  He gave generously of his time volunteering for church and community. He was a member of the Havre Boucher Veterans Association, a lifetime member of the Havre Boucher Kinsmen Club, and a member of St. Paul's Parish Council for which he held the position of Chair of the building committee for the new St. Paul's Church.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda (Bennett); daughter, Amber Fougere(Dirk Xanthos), Melbourne, Australia; son, Justin Fougere (Tara MacDonald), Frankville; granddaughters: Sophie and Quinn Fougere; sister, Marlene Fougere (Scott MacKay), Waverley.

Visitation will be in St. Paul's Centre, Havre Boucher on Friday, January 3rd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.  Funeral will be held in St. Paul's Church, Havre Boucher on Saturday, January 4 at 11:00 am with Reverend Allan MacPhie presiding.  Burial in the parish cemetery.
