Iain Douglas MacLean
MacLean, Iain Douglas, age 43 of James River passed away at home in the early hours of February 10, 2020.
Born in Antigonish, he was the son of Doug and Kay (MacDonald) MacLean.
Iain loved to be outdoors hunting, fishing and four-wheeling. He enjoyed pickle ball, attending the car races and he especially loved spending time at Grampie’s camp.
He spent some time commuting between home and Alberta and most recently was employed as a parts clerk with MacDonald Chrysler in Antigonish.
Iain donated all organs and tissue so he could give the gift of life to others.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his son, Ryan who was the light of his life; partner, Karen-Ann MacMillan; sister, Carol Ann (Kenneth) Chisholm, James River, their son, and Iain’s Godchild, Evan; sister, Debbie MacLean (Takeo Kawamura), Veazie, Maine; Karen-Ann’s daughter, Ellen (Johnathon) Brophy and their daughter Nora as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish on Friday, February 14th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held in St. Ninian Cathedral on Saturday, February 15th, at 11:00 am with Reverend Joe MacKenzie presiding. Spring burial will be in Glen Bard Cemetery, James River.
