Boyd, James John "Jim", age 85, of Antigonish
passed away on May 17, 2020, in St. Martha’s Regional
Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in Frasers Mills, he was a son of the late Hugh and Mary
(Gillis) Boyd.
Jim served in the Air Force for 30 years as a radar
technician. Though stationed in many places, he always
wanted to return to Nova Scotia. Jim was an active and
long-standing member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Always an
athletic man, he enjoyed hunting, golf, softball, hockey, and
especially curling. Jim was a part of at least one 8-ender
and was known for his ice-making capabilities at various curling
clubs. He also loved animals and going to the
dances.
He is survived by his son, Trevor (Tina), Shelburne;
granddaughters, Brittany (Calvin) Regan, Grand Prairie, AB; Kayla
(Chad) Giovannini, Dawson Creek, BC; great grandson, Boston Regan;
great-granddaughter, Logan Regan; step-great-granddaughter, Sophia
Giovannini; brother, Archie (Maureen), Frasers Mills; and Leo
(Claire), Arichat; sister, Mary K., Grand Ledge, Michigan; and
sister-in-law, Margie Boyd, Toronto.
Predeceased by sister, Isabelle; and brothers Owen (Phyllis),
Bill, and William in infancy.
A private family funeral service will be held on Thursday at
2:00pm with Reverend Daniel MacDonald presiding. You can view the

Burial in South River Cemetery, St. Andrews.
