MacLean, Betty Jean, 70, of Crossroads Ohio, Antigonish
County, passed away on May 19, 2020, in the Victoria General Hospital,
Halifax, after a brief but courageous battle with heart disease and
cancer.
Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Albert and
Caroline (Smith) Poirier.
Betty was a real spitfire and social butterfly. She took a
lot of pride in her car and her drives all over the countryside with
her sister and sidekick, Diane. Together they enjoyed the
local fish and chip shacks and ice cream stands. Most
Saturday nights, Betty could be found kicking up her heels at the
dance in St. Andrews, where again she would be found with Diane and
many of her friends. Some of her other loves were most
definitely fishing, scratch tickets, crossword puzzles, playing
Yahtzee, and most of all lobster. Betty loved all kids, but
especially her grandkids. She will no doubt be dearly missed
by all her "Facebook Fans".
She is survived by her daughters, Vicki (Jamie Stewart),
Crossroads Ohio; Lisa (Lori) MacLean, Medicine Hat, AB; sons, Darryl
(Melissa Dumont) and Sandy (Tammy Kitzul), Medicine Hat;
grandchildren, Kelsey MacLean, Kody MacLean, and David Kobasiuk;
sisters, Diana (late John A.), Ohio; Elaine, Stellarton; Sheila (late
Bernard), Calgary; and Pam (Larry), Country Harbour; brothers, Donnie,
West River; Sheldon (Francine), Calgary; many nieces and nephews; and
her grand-dog, Oakley, and grand-kitties, Harley and
Bee.
Predeceased by her husband, Donnie.
A private family funeral will be held on Wednesday at 2:00.
