Gorman, Edward, East Tracadie.

On May 30, 2020, our family chain was broken, as God called Edward home.  Born Joseph Edward Gorman on November 25, 1937 on the farm in East Tracadie, he was a son of the late Joseph and Sarah (Boudreau) Gorman.

Edward’s love of the land kept him on the family farm, where he worked from a young age.  Edward worked in the forest industry for the majority of his life.  As a truck driver, he hauled wood, Christmas trees, and salt.  He was not a mechanic by trade, but he prided himself on being a "self-certified" backyard mechanic.  Edward was always up for a game of forty-fives and enjoyed visiting his friends.  His visits – including trips to Ottawa, British Columbia, Prince Edward Island, and going on scenic drives – were not always about the destination but the journey.  Edward had a soft sensitive side, and he loved deeply and never held a grudge.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Twila (Boudreau); daughters, Shara Gorman-Stewart (Dale), Middleton; Melissa Gorman (Christina Daniels), and Josh and Bailey, Victoria, BC; Donna (Leo) Morrison, and Jordan, Ashlin, and Alyssa, Linwood; Karen Delorey and Skyler, Linwood; sisters, Betty Tarrant, Vancouver; Shirley (Peter) Kristensen, Kelowna; and Maureen Bears, East Tracadie; sisters-in-law, Muriel Gorman, East Tracadie; and Laurel Gorman, Burnaby, BC; and many nieces and nephews, especially nephew, Xavier.

Predeceased by his sister, Mary; and brothers, Ignatius, Ronald, Kenneth, and Maurice.

A private family funeral will be held, with a celebration of Edward’s life to be held at a later date.

In Memoriam, donations to St. Martha’s Regional Hospital Foundation (Stroke Unit) appreciated.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of C.L. Curry Funeral Home, Antigonish.  Online condolences:  www.clcurry.com
