Madden, Jessie
B., age 82, of Antigonish passed away on June 25, 2020
in the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish
Born in Pictou, she was the daughter
of the late Andrew and Annie Elizabeth (Hatt) Madden.
Jessie worked at Silver Cleaners for
many years and was employed by Louie’s and
Frenchie’s Used Clothing prior to her retirement in her
early 60’s due to ill health. She gave loving care to her
father and aunt in her home and provided home care to other folks in
the community.
She is survived by her brother, James
Madden, St Andrews; sister, Ethel Layes, South Side Harbour; special
friend, Charles LeRue, L’Ardoise, as well as many cousins,
nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was
predeceased by her common law partner, Joseph MacIntyre, sister,
Stella Marie Fraser, sister in law, Florence Madden and brothers in
law Alex Fraser and Lawrence Layes.
Visitation will be in C.L. Curry
Funeral Home on Sunday, June 28th from 7 to 9 pm and Monday, June
29th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm and all visitors
will be asked to comply with Covid 19 distancing protocol. A private
funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00am with Reverend
