Babin, Mary Evangeline, age 84, of Antigonish passed away on July 25, 2020, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.

Born in West Arichat, she was a daughter of the late Leo and Jeanette (Paupin) Meunier.

Evangeline was a wonderful mother figure to many, no matter their age. She enjoyed watching curling, she was a dedicated bingo player, and she enjoyed many card games with close friends and family.

She is survived by her children, Claudette (Court Lynds), Stewiacke, Philippe (Vangie), Antigonish; Maurice (Nathalie), St. John’s, NL; Jeannette (Mike) Pittman; three grandchildren, Mikayla, Jonathan, and Jack; sisters, Violet LeBlanc, Arichat; Helen (Jim) McLaren, Antigonish; and Linda (Paul) Martell, Petit de Gras.

Predeceased by her husband Jean "John".

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday at 11:00am in St. Ninian Place, Antigonish, with Reverend Donald MacGillivray presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery.

PUBLIC VISITATION PROTOCOLS

All visitors are advised to bring a mask when attending a visitation at our funeral home.  There are markings on the floor which indicate six-foot distances as well as markings that indicate 6 feet from the family.  You are asked to respect those markings as much as possible at all times.  The province's social distancing guidelines can be found here.

At the direction of the Province of Nova Scotia, there is no guest book provided and we will not be handling Mass or donation money, though cards can be made available for you.

Anyone who is exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms or who could be considered high-risk of contracting the coronavirus should avoid attending the visitation and funeral.  The list of COVID-19 symptoms can be found here.
