A warm heart and a tender soul was called home on October 13, 2020.

Born in Antigonish on September 4, 1952, Linda Marion Brown was the daughter of the late Theresa and George Brown of Monastery.

Linda lived a quiet life at home in Monastery and enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought her peace and offered her contentment.  A long walk on a country road, a cup of tea with a neighbor or relative and catch up chats on the telephone were ideal ways for her to fill her days.  Later her life became more complete when she met Frankie and they made a home together in Grosvenor, happiest knowing she was cared for and had someone at her side, her heart was full.  When it was necessary, Linda and Frankie moved to Antigonish and in 2019 Linda became a resident of the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, where Frankie continued to be at her side as much as possible.

Linda was a babysitter to many and loved children, especially babies.  If you needed to talk, her phone would always be answered, and you’d be sure to be listened to.  She loved to play Bingo, go for a car ride and to spend time visiting friends and family.  Her eyes lit with delight when someone made her laugh.  She worked at Levy’s Leathers in Lower South River for some time and made many good friends there.  Though she spent her life contending with an unseen illness, she did her best everyday.  Giving what she could when she could, she was courageous.

She is survived by Frankie Bowie, her son Craig, Antigonish; Frank’s sons Eugene (Patricia), Mattie Settlement; Jimmy (Gail), Clydesdale; daughter-in-law, Carol-Anne, Grosvenor; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren; her sisters Barbara Mason, Goshen, and Carol Cameron, Antigonish; her brothers, George (Sandi) Rodney, Ontario; Fred (Isabel), Grosvenor; Francis, Monastery, and Berkley (Jackie), Grosvenor as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by her sister, Darlene in infancy, brothers-in-law, Brian Mason and Gordon Cameron, Frank’s son, Gerard Bowie; and special nephew and Godchild Kory Brown.

Cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Tracadie, with Fr. John Barry presiding.

Donations in Linda’s memory can be made to the charity of your choice.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of C.L. Curry Funeral Home, Antigonish.  Online condolences:  www.clcurry.com
