Mattie, Trina Maria, age 36, of Halifax and formerly of Monastery, Antigonish County, passed away suddenly on October 16, 2020 at home.

Born in Antigonish, she was a daughter of David and Anita (Wilkie) Mattie of Monastery.

Trina was an incredibly hard-working woman. With her beautiful heart and soul, she would selflessly do anything for the people she loved.  Her family was her world; she was so proud of where she came from, and her eyes would light up any time she would talk about going down home to spend time with them. Although she was a quiet person, she was always so happy to be there.

Leading up to her untimely passing, she spent her days at home working, studying for her Holistic Nutritionist Certification, and spending time with her loving partner Jon and their two cats Chilli and Sophia. Trina also had a special place in her heart for Jon’s daughter Amelia and always looked forward to her visits.

Besides her parents and her partner, Jon Parent, she is survived by her brother, Chad (Megan Fogarty), Summerside Road; sister, Marlee (Michael Cullen), Halifax; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Predeceased by her brother, Kyle, and grandparents, Roland and Mary Wilkie and Francis and Margaret Mattie.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish.  Social distancing protocols must be followed, and masks are mandatory.  Funeral Mass will be held Thursday in St. Peter’s Church, Tracadie, at 11:00am, Fr. John Barry presiding.  Burial in the parish cemetery at a later date.

In Memoriam, donations to the Genetic Aortic Disorders Association or the QEII Foundation appreciated.
