MacAskill, Dan, age 75 of Lower South River passed away in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital on December 28, 2020 following a lengthy illness.
Born in West Bay Road, he was the son of the Late Duncan and Florence (MacQuarrie) MacAskill.
Dan enjoyed music and a good game of cards.
He is survived by his wife, Anne (Rogers); brothers: Murdock (Elizabeth), Uxbridge, Ont; Angus (Pauline), Heatherton; sisters: Julia MacQuarrie, Annie MacInnis and Catherine Gray in Port Hawkesbury and Florence (Alex) Hatcher, West Bay Road; sister in law, Dorothy MacAskill, Port Hawkesbury and special niece, Carrie MacAskill.
He was predeceased by brothers Hughie and Duncan John; sister, Jane; brothers in law, James Rogers, Eddie MacInnis and Donald MacQuarrie.
A private funeral service will be held in C.L. Curry Funeral Home. A livestream link to the service will be available on this website at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 31st. Burial to follow.

Dan's family would like to thank the staff of St. Martha's Progressive Care Unit, Palliative Care Unit , Dr. Jane Howard and Dr. Gibson for their kindness and wonderful care.
