It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of beloved wife, mom, and Gran.

Marie Elizabeth Jackson, age 90, of Antigonish and formerly of Monastery, Antigonish County, passed away on February 21, 2021 in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax.

Born in Calgary, Alberta, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Woods) Keeler.

Known as "Gran" by many, Marie greeted everyone with a smile. Sweet, caring, and with a heart of gold, she had a way of seeing the good in everything and everyone. She had a strong faith and was very dedicated to her church, where she helped to bring a sense of community and met lifelong friends. She grew up in Calgary and worked at Eaton’s, where she met her husband of 69 years, Charlie (Chic).  In 1970, they moved to Nova Scotia with their two children where they established a beautiful home surrounded by gardening.  Marie was an avid baker, crafter, and knitter and donated much of her time and talent to 4-H, children’s activities, Sunday School, and in her later years knitting items to donate to the hospital. Marie was very creative and resourceful, shown by her numerous painting and crafting projects as well as her recipes. She was a very proud Gran who loved her family dearly and most of all, Chic.

She is survived by her husband, Charlie; son, Bruce (Winnie), Bayfield; daughter, Debbie Fougere, Tracadie; grandchildren, Trudy, Stacey, Brent, Beth, Brad, Chrissy, Catherine, and Briana; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Len (Helen) and Ken (Shirley); brother-in-law, Al Bruce; and several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her sister, Kathy Bruce; sons-in-law, Gerald Myette and Arthur Fougere.

Cremation has taken place, and when conditions allow, a funeral service will be held in Port Hawkesbury United Baptist Church.

In Memoriam, donations to the Canadian Bible Society, Port Hawkesbury United Baptist Church, or a charity of choice are appreciated.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of C.L. Curry Funeral Home, Antigonish.  To place an online condolence please visit:  www.clcurry.com
