DeYoung, M. Darlene, age 64, of
Havre Boucher, passed away on March 19, 2021 at the home of her
daughter, Crystal, in Havre Boucher.
Born in Antigonish, she was the daughter of the late John and
Reva (Vautier) Hall. Darlene was a kind and gentle person;
generous to all, even total strangers. She took pride in her
collection of beanie babies, had a fondness for butterflies and
flowers, enjoyed visiting the casino, and in the early years loved to
drive her Corvette. Darlene’s children,
grandchildren and great grandchild were very dear to
her.
She is survived by her daughter, Crystal DeYoung, Havre
Boucher; son, Jason (Cathy Green) DeYoung, Monastery; grandchildren:
Ashton Perry, Monastery; Hanna Perry, Antigonish; Abbey Perry, Havre
Boucher; great grandson, Landon MacDonald, Monastery; special friend,
Ted Ehler, South Side Harbour; sisters: Ethel (Lee) Sears, Lower
Sackville; Theresa (Joe) Melanson, Pomquet; Natalie (Roddie)
MacDonald, Calgary; foster sister, Dawn (Les) Deon, Truro and former
husband,, Donald DeYoung, Summerside Road.
She was predeceased by her sister, Patricia and brothers
Jimmy and Johnny.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be in
C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish on Saturday,
March 27thfrom 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Masks required and
Covid 19 social distancing guidelines in place. Funeral and burial
